2026-10-14: Listener API v1#

The first public version of the Listener API. API version 2026-10-14.

REST API#

  • One API for Listener creators and Listener Networks workspaces at https://api.listener.com/v1.
  • Endpoints for the workspace and shows, episodes, analytics, clusters and the AI cluster builder, campaigns and brands, air checks, reports, sponsors, the library and research, data refreshes, webhooks and events.
  • Stripe-style conventions: object on every payload, a shared list envelope with cursors, typed errors with doc_url, Request-Id on every response.
  • dry_run on every write, Idempotency-Key on every write, confirm on destructive and metered writes.
  • IETF RateLimit-* headers, ETag and If-None-Match, CORS for browser OAuth apps.
  • An OpenAPI 3.1 document at /v1/openapi.json.

Authentication#

  • API keys with presets or fine-grained scopes, optional expiry and 24-hour rotation, created under Settings → Developers in both apps.
  • OAuth 2.1 with PKCE, refresh-token rotation, revocation, introspection, userinfo, dynamic client registration and client ID metadata documents.

Webhooks and events#

  • Signed webhooks (Listener-Signature, HMAC-SHA256) for campaign, cluster, episode, data, integration, brand, report and show changes, with retries for three days.
  • An Events API with 30 days of history.

Developer console#

  • Settings → Developers in both apps: API keys, OAuth apps, authorized apps, webhooks with a delivery log, request logs and usage.

MCP#

  • The MCP server accepts OAuth sign-in in addition to API keys.

What is coming#

  • Official SDKs on npm (@listener/api) and PyPI (listener-api). See SDKs.
  • The event catalog with live examples at GET /v1/event-types, mirrored on Event types.
